Brief & Concept

Working as part of a small group, the brief for Neurokinex was to redesign the 1st floor of their Gatwick location. Neurokinex is a charity that offers personalised rehabilitation for various forms of paralysis. Considering practical factors such budget, overall wellness and current building regulations; the design needed to communicate client values whilst supporting the functions and needs of the clients, therapists, caretakers and staff.

Our concept of Flourish referenced nature and the healing power of natural materials whilst hinting at a journey of discovery, hard work and connection with oneself and others.

Design Details

The overall design was optimistic, playful and cocooning. We provided a sensory connection to nature through soft textures, organic shapes and natural finishes – reflecting everyone’s personal journey of flourishing. Within our team, I was responsible for the design development and final visual renders. In particular, I thoroughly enjoyed designing concept-lead bespoke joinery features.

The final colour palette was brand-lead and chosen to keep the areas playful and inspire happiness and hope. To ensure ongoing wellness for everyone at Neurokinex, we specified sustainable and eco-friendly products wherever possible.
